Monthly Mega Skills

 

New Beginnings Academy not only educates students in academic subjects, but character education as well. Each month, students focus on learning a "megaskill" in class and during whole school assemblies. Students are recognized for exhibiting exemplary behavior through school wide WOW slips and during Friday Flag. Each week, teachers choose one student from their class who has demonstrated the character trait of the month to celebrate. These students are called up to the front of the assembly amidst applause and cheers, as they are rewarded for being positive citizens.
